Care That Meets You Where You Are
Our Trauma-Informed & Neurodivergent-Affirming Approach
Personalized, Trauma-Informed & Neurodivergent-Affirming Physical Therapy
Care That Starts With Listening
At Natural Fit Physio, we believe healing begins when you feel safe, heard, and respected.
Whether you're seeking care for pelvic floor concerns, pregnancy or postpartum recovery, orthopedic pain, or wellness, our goal is to create an environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, expressing concerns, and participating in decisions about your care.
Every person brings a unique history, body, and lived experience into the treatment room. We recognize that past healthcare experiences, trauma, sensory preferences, chronic pain, or differences in the way you process information can all influence how you experience physical therapy. That's why we tailor every session to meet you where you are.
Our one-on-one appointments provide the time and flexibility to move at your pace, ensuring your treatment feels collaborative, empowering, and centered around your goals.
What Does Trauma-Informed Care Mean?
Trauma-informed care recognizes that many people have experienced events that can affect how they feel during healthcare visits. While those experiences may not always be visible, they deserve to be acknowledged and respected.
At Natural Fit Physio, trauma-informed care means creating an environment built on trust, choice, collaboration, and respect.
You can expect:
Your consent is requested throughout your visit—not just once.
Every assessment and treatment technique is explained before it happens.
You are encouraged to ask questions at any time.
Internal pelvic floor examinations and treatments are always optional.
Your treatment plan is adapted based on your comfort level and goals.
You are welcome to pause, modify, or decline any part of treatment.
We focus on building trust and helping you feel empowered throughout your care.
Healing looks different for everyone, and there is no "right" pace.
Neurodivergent-Affirming Care
Every brain processes information differently, and there is no
one-size-fits-all approach to physical therapy.
We strive to provide affirming care for neurodivergent adults, including individuals with ADHD, autism, sensory processing differences, hypermobility, and differences in body awareness (interoception and proprioception).
Treatment may be adapted by:
Breaking exercises into manageable steps
Providing visual, verbal, or hands-on learning options
Modifying home exercise programs to fit your daily routines
Allowing additional processing time when needed
Minimizing sensory overload whenever possible
Helping improve awareness of breathing, posture, muscle tension, and movement patterns
Working together to develop strategies that feel realistic and sustainable
Our goal isn't to make you fit a treatment plan—it's to create a treatment plan that fits you.
Why This Matters in Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy
Pelvic floor symptoms are closely connected to the nervous system, breathing, stress, movement patterns, and overall body awareness.
Many people living with pelvic pain, urinary symptoms, constipation, painful intercourse, pregnancy-related discomfort, or postpartum concerns have been told their symptoms are "normal" or have had experiences where they didn't feel heard.
Our approach focuses on understanding the whole picture—not just treating symptoms.
By combining education, hands-on treatment, movement, breathing strategies, and individualized exercise, we help you better understand your body while working toward lasting improvements.

Other Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to have an internal pelvic floor exam?
No. Internal examinations are never required. Together, we'll discuss your goals and determine the best evaluation and treatment plan based on your comfort level.
Can I bring a support person?
Absolutely. If having a trusted support person present helps you feel more comfortable, they are welcome to attend your visit.
What if I feel anxious about physical therapy?
Many people feel nervous, especially if they've had negative healthcare experiences. We encourage you to share any concerns, and we'll work together to create a plan that feels manageable and supportive.
What if I need extra time to process information?
That's completely okay. We tailor our communication and education to meet your learning style and will never rush you through your appointment. Some of our clients like to utilize our portal to chat with us after their session, once they have had time to process what we discussed.
What if I don't know how to describe what I'm feeling?
Many pelvic floor symptoms can be difficult to put into words. Through conversation, movement assessment, and guided questions, we'll work together to better understand your symptoms. We will work together to customize your exercises to ensure you are feeling what we want you to feel, so that you aren’t leaving confused or feeling like you’re not doing the right movement.
Will my treatment plan look like everyone else's?
No. Every treatment plan is individualized based on your symptoms, goals, lifestyle, and preferences. We believe your care should fit your life, not the other way around.
